On my return to the Colony after leave of absence I have just seen that part of the Report of the Retrenchment Committee which recommends that, in future, the Attorney General be allowed a salary of $4,800 with the right of private practice. I can only express my surprise that before such a recommendation was made I was not asked to state my views on the subject.
